The Evesham Fishing Festival in Worcestershire is back for 2011 and promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a star-studded line-up of anglers and a host of other great attractions planned for the weekend!
The FREE three-day August Bank Holiday festival takes place at the historic market town and is one of the longest-running fixtures in the angling calendar, with three jam-packed days of fishing. Starting with the poplar Shakespeare Championship on Saturday, August 27th, followed by the Wychavon Championship on Sunday, 28th and ends with the 14-team Match Fishing Team Championship on the 29th – There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with all the angling action!
The annual fishing show is hugely popular – with nearly 50,000 visitors attending last year, and it was the first time that bloodworm and joker were allowed for all three days and this turned out to be a resounding success, with countless fish caught throughout the length – exactly what a spectator-driven event like this needs! This year will follow the same format with star anglers; Wayne Swinscoe, Darren Cox, Denis White, Hadrian Whittle, Simon Willsmore and Lee Kerry all taking part. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn from the very best and even bag an autograph or two!
So what else is going on?
Alongside the fishing there are tents galore full of tackle with top bargains to be had, plus a funfair, craft tent and loads of kids’ activities. This really is an event for all the family! For more information, visit the Evesham Fishing Festival website.
