Asgard Sheds in winter

Our metal garden sheds need very little upkeep and maintenance, unlike wooden sheds and when winter comes, they will not need a protective treatment.

Winter brings increasing, cold and damp weather, which can severely damage a wooden shed by causing swelling, rotting, leaking and damage to the joints.  Snow left on a wooden shed roof can cause damage to the roof by sagging and when the snow melts it could leak into the shed.

Metal garden sheds face very little problems in winter weather. Asgard sheds are made from strong weatherproof (galvanised steel) protecting them from rust, many also feature wind and rain guards which protect them from the strongest wind and rain. The metal garden sheds can also be anchored to the ground, for added security and protection against the strong winds and all Asgard storage units are fitted with a unique ventilation system which helps to minimize condensation within the shed. All of these features make these sheds extremely weather resistant.

The only maintenance that your Asgard shed will require is:

  • Regular greasing of the hinges
  • Regular oiling of the locking mechanisms
  • The unit should be washed (twice a year) with soapy water and make sure it is free from dirt and grease

With winter usually comes snow, so make sure that any heavy snow fall is brushed from the shed roof.

With less maintenance, investing in a metal garden shed is well worth it, to save you on hassle, time and money preparing and repairing your wooden garden shed from harsh weather and damage.
