Asgard customers Peter and Jackie Hall decided to store a Trike, a motorised 3-wheeled scooter in the motorbike shed. We asked them what they thought about using the Asgard bike shed to store their trike.

How did you find the delivery service from Asgard and assembling the bike shed?

“My first impression was on delivery of the parts of the shed: the delivery men were excellent; very careful with their handling and couldn’t be more helpful, giving me tips on the assembly that proved invaluable. Assembly was remarkably straightforward, given the number of parts and the weights and sizes involved. I had to do the assembly single-handed, but this was no problem.  The instruction diagrams were clear and obvious to follow, and during assembly I was frequently noticing just how cleverly thought-out is the design down to the finest detail – everything just flowed together and potential difficulties had obviously been foreseen and averted.”

Were you impressed with the finished product?
“The completed shed is superb! Everything about the shed testifies to its quality. The wood floor is a boon: apart from providing a smooth, comfortable base it also deadens quite a lot of the metallic booming sound that was noticeable during assembly.”

And is the bike shed suitable for the intended purpose of storing the trike?

“Our use of the shed has nothing to do with motorcycles!! My wife is disabled, so we use the shed to store her disability “trike” (i.e. a front wheel attachment converts her wheelchair into a mechanised trike with an electric motor that whizzes her along at up to 16 mph). We have especial needs of easy access and copious accommodation, and this it provides. She particularly appreciates the convenience and ease of use of the fitted ramp, and the double doors that allow a wide entry space. Headroom is fine and the generous proportions of the shed allow plenty of freedom of movement around her trike. And we are comfortable knowing that the shed is very secure, yet easy to lock / open.”
“Arthritis is not a pleasant affliction, but that does not mean we can’t enjoy a quality of life. Our set-up with the disability trike and its spanking new storage shed gives her a facility she takes pleasure in using. Thank you for supplying such a cleverly thought out and functional product.”

Asgard Garden Storage 2 years on

Asgard have been kicking around for a few years now – we love to hear from our customers and as part of our on-going commitment we always contact our customers for feedback on the “Asgard Experience” Below is one such experience 2 years on.

“Good morning.

This may be a surprise but as promised, here is my shed update!  The Asgard has been great for the last two years or so.  We get some pretty harsh weather here and as you can see we are very exposed.

I know you were eager to know about condensation in such an exposed area – I can honestly say that we have not had a drop of condensation inside the shed.  As instructed we put a proper concrete base down and the shed has been totally dry.

The only problem we have had is the handle occasionally freezes, so as per your instructions a little warm water and it’s free!

After 2 years the units is totally rust free, the paint has not faded in any way and it all works as it should.
A 1st class garden shed”.

Customer Review – The Annexe Bike Shed and the Flexistore Garden Shed.

If you have a bicycle make sure you keep it safe with adequate security measures and a bike insurance.  But when you are taking out bicycle insurance, make sure you read the Insurance Policy to ensure you are covered when it is being stored.  You will find that many policies state that the bicycle must be kept locked up using a Sold Secure bike lock* as well as being stored either in a bike shed, garage at home.

 ”I have now purchased 2 products from Asgard. The 1st was a Metal Bike Shed – The Annexe Model.   This is not cheap at 500 pounds, but has proven its worth already after a recent break in, my house was emptied of everything of any value but the thieves could not get into the bike store – so that’s 7000 pounds less to claim for.  The cost of insuring my bikes was three 300 pounds, so in theory after two years the unit is paid for. The only thing the thieves managed to do was snap off the handle and scratch the paint.

The 2nd unit was a Flexistore Metal Shed. Not as heavy duty as the Annexe bike store (this one is not insurance approved) but – again, more than strong enough for garden tools – Same price at around the 500 pounds mark as the bike store, but three times the size. Again this unit foiled the thieves only a slight dent in the door and tool marks around the lock.   All in all very impressive sheds.  Nice to see a UK business actually STILL in business!”

How did you find placing the order and the delivery of your unit from Asgard?

“The Asgard bike box was delivered quickly and efficiently by a couple of nice northern lads in their ‘wagon’ .  I built it in the time it took me to drink 2 small bottles of ale, and the end result was a solid, safe and burglar proof box,  designed and manufactured in England , which was wonderful to see that we still make something, and something which you normally see online which looks great but once you’ve  taken all the land fill packaging off is just a piece of cheap Chinese rubbish!  Not with this though, bring back the manufacturing and stop working in call centres kids!”
